Photo of the week.

These are the Photos of the Week which have appeared since December 2024. They provide an interesting snapshot of what the Club has been involved in at home and further afield.

Cliffs
The Club runs day trips, most Wednesdays during the year. This was last week off Belle Hougue, the tallest headland in Jersey. Sheltered from the wind we had a leisurely picnic before heading back to Rozel.
Dolphins
This fantastic photo was taken on Saturday 28th December just off the Ecrhous. We were returning from a short day trip to the special reef. Thanks to Patrycja Bocianowsa for this special shot

Its a New Year so its time to refresh wet exits and rescue skills. All members of the Club have to complete the exercises the first time they paddle each year as a minimum. Paul is busy trying to rescue Iris who wasn’t really co-operating as she was taking the photos. Thanks to Iris for the picture.

It has been great to see some sunshine over the last few days. Saturday morning we headed towards Corbiere with the winter light illuminating the granite cliffs.
kayak
Another photo from Patrycja form the Wednesday paddle. Heading around the north east corner of Jersey. This small Bay is Fliquet with parking for a few cars.
Off the south east corner of Jersey there is an amazing coastal zone, with the sea retreating nearly 2 miles on low water springs. There is an 18th century military tower, and this weeks image was taken from the ramparts of the Tower last Wednesday by Patrycja.
Paddling back into Ouaisne after the Sunday morning session. some interesting conditions due to the interaction of the swell, the wind and the spring tide. Excellent skills shown by the 15 Club members on the water.
On Sunday morning 14 members of the Club paddled out to the furthest point west in the Baliwick, Les Boiteaux. The next land behind the paddlers is Newfoundland.
